Key Responsibilities:
- Training and qualification of contract personnel regarding compliance related to plant safety procedures.
- Schedule and plan safety training for contract employees.
- Follow up on safety training requirements and certification for all contract employees.
- Conduct safety courses for contract employees on topics such as work permits, confined space entry, lockout, tag out, and try procedures.
- Maintain files and accurate documentation of qualifications and certifications for contract employees.
- Implement plant loss prevention programs.
- Follow standard safety rules and regulations, influence others, and provide consulting services if required.
- Adhere to company reporting systems for incidents and accidents.
- Conduct safety introductions for new employees in accordance with company safety rules and procedures.
- Perform task risk analyses before starting maintenance jobs and monitor daily the effective use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by the workforce.
- Continuously monitor and report near misses.
- Conduct frequent toolbox meetings.
- Actively participate in company safety and training programs.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in English communication (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Ability to write and express complex ideas, instructions, and procedures.
- Graduate from high school and a graduate of a 3-year technical school.
- At least one safety credential.
- 5 years of work experience as a Safety Officer or Safety Coordinator in a petrochemical plant.
- Understanding and adherence to plant safety standards and procedures.
- Familiarity with petrochemical plant safety hazards.
