Cloud Platform Engineer (Azure / Infrastructure as Code)
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (KL Eco City, Bangsar)
Contract: 12 months (renewable based on performance)
Overview
An opportunity is available for a Cloud Platform Engineer to join a global engineering team supporting large-scale cloud transformation initiatives. This role focuses on building, automating, and optimising Azure cloud platforms using Infrastructure as Code, while contributing to the development of secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud environments.
You will work within an agile, international platform engineering setup, collaborating with architects, developers, and security teams to enhance cloud-native adoption and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure
- Develop and improve Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to enable automation and self-service provisioning
- Support performance, cost, and deployment optimisation of cloud environments
- Build and maintain cloud observability, monitoring, automation, and governance frameworks
- Configure and manage networking, storage, and compute resources
- Work closely with cloud architecture and security teams to ensure compliance with standards and policies
- Manage identity and access controls, including Microsoft Entra ID and related security configurations
- Contribute to cloud security practices including encryption, IAM, and policy enforcement
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams in an agile environment
- Support continuous improvement of cloud platform capabilities and best practices
- Explore and contribute to emerging areas such as GenAI architecture and cloud enablement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- Strong experience in cloud infrastructure engineering and platform development
- Proven experience with Microsoft Azure services
- Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
- Experience with automation and configuration tools including GitHub and similar DevOps tooling
- Good understanding of cloud architecture principles, scalability, and security design
- Experience with cloud networking, compute, and storage configuration
- Understanding of cloud governance and operational best practices
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in agile delivery environments
Desirable Experience
- AWS exposure is an advantage
- Experience with cloud security, SSM, and identity management
- Interest or exposure to GenAI architecture and cloud-based AI solutions

- Security tooling (including mobile device management solutions) may be required for access to systems
