Site Welding Superintendent
Location: Offshore / Onsite
Contract: Permanent / Project-based
Schedule: 8 hours per day, 5 days on / 2 days off
Notice Period: 2 months

Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Site Welding Superintendent to lead welding execution at offshore and on-site projects. The role is responsible for developing welding method statements, planning welding sequences, ensuring equipment readiness, monitoring welder performance, and maintaining high-quality standards in line with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to the Welding Engineer / Construction Manager.

  • Lead and control welding supervisors, foremen, and welders engaged in all welding activities.

  • Optimize manpower, equipment, and materials for efficient and timely completion of works. Set and measure daily targets (dia-inch per day) and monitor performance.

  • Lead and coordinate welding crews to execute daily tasks, assign work, monitor performance, and conduct toolbox talks to promote safety and productivity. Assist in resolving conflicts, mentoring junior staff, and fostering a positive work environment.

  • Plan welding sequences and manage inventory of consumables and equipment.

  • Ensure that required welding equipment, cables, machines, ovens, and other tools are available and in working condition. Identify and remove faulty equipment.

  • Provide welding expertise in the development of specific procedures or requirements related to piping and structural welding.

  • Ensure optimum utilisation of welding equipment and consumables, monitor wastage, and maintain compliance with handling procedures.

  • Support foremen in managing projects and provide technical advice when required.

  • Ensure qualified welders are available on site, provide guidance, and monitor performance.

  • Ensure that all work is carried out to the required quality and complies with industry best practices.

  • Provide feedback on welders during retention processes, including skill assessment and repair performance.

  • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce production, safety, and quality system policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering.

  • Minimum 10 years’ site experience in Oil & Gas, including jackets, platforms, and offshore structures.

  • Hands-on experience in welding processes including GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, SAW, semi-automatic, and automated methods.

  • FCAW experience in offshore structural welding is mandatory. Experience in GTAW, SMAW, and SAW for piping and structure is required.

  • Good knowledge of welding equipment and automation.

  • Experience in site execution, problem-solving, and welder training.

  • Ability to operate modern welding processes/equipment and train welders/foremen.
