Temporary Stormwater Consultant

Workload: 20-25% (with possible extensions)
Fee: Hourly rate, adjustable annually per index (see contract terms)
Assignment Overview
Our client is seeking one or more experienced consultants to provide temporary support for ongoing strategic stormwater work during the stormwater strategist's parental leave. The role includes both strategic and operational responsibilities to ensure continuity and progress in updating the municipality's stormwater policy and guidelines, with a focus on GIS analyses and integration in municipal planning.
Scope of Work
The consultant will work strategically and operationally, including but not limited to:
- Further development of the stormwater guideline and related GIS analyses in close cooperation with the municipality's GIS engineer.
- Preparation and review of detailed plans to integrate stormwater considerations early in planning processes, aligned with municipal policies.
- Participation in various project phases, including street and park construction and specific stormwater projects.
- Acting as a contact for citizen inquiries regarding stormwater, requiring strong communication skills and understanding of technical, legal, and social aspects.
- Coordination across municipal departments to ensure stormwater efforts align with broader municipal goals such as the Comprehensive Plan, Environmental Program, and Blue Plan.
Qualifications
- Documented experience in strategic stormwater work.
- Good understanding of municipal planning and project collaboration.
- Ability to translate strategic goals into practical applications.
- Competency Level 2 or 3:
- Level 2: 1-3 years consultancy experience in relevant field; able to perform defined tasks independently with supervision.
- Level 3: 4-8 years experience; able to lead sub-areas and work independently; role model for junior consultants.
