Position: Solar & Energy Storage Project Engineer

About the Role:
We are working on behalf of a leading renewable energy developer in Europe to identify a highly motivated Solar & Energy Storage Project Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of solar and energy storage (BESS) projects, driving the energy transition across Europe.
As part of a fast-growing organization, the successful candidate will lead renewable energy projects from initial planning to full implementation, engaging with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the lifecycle of solar and BESS projects, from feasibility studies to commissioning.
- Oversee permitting processes at regional and national levels, ensuring compliance with regulations and securing land agreements.
- Evaluate potential project sites, focusing on solar exposure, grid accessibility, and site viability.
- Develop and maintain relationships with utilities, regulators, grid operators, and community representatives.
- Lead interconnection studies and negotiate agreements with transmission providers.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, legal, and finance teams to optimize project delivery.
- Research and analyze innovative technologies, including hybrid energy solutions, within the solar and BESS sectors.
- Regularly update project status and pipeline reports for senior management.
- Stay informed on market trends and competitors, particularly in energy storage.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in project management within the energy or renewable energy sector.
- In-depth knowledge of the Portuguese energy market and its regulatory framework.
- Technical expertise in solar and BESS technologies, including permitting and construction processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with tools like PVsyst, QGIS, and AutoCAD is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
