We are currently seeking a Senior Offshore Structural Engineer to join our team based in Kuala Lumpur.

Successful candidates will be offered a fixed-term employment.

Your Mission:

As a Senior Offshore Structural Engineer, you will perform in roles such as Lead/Sub-lead/Senior Engineer in project execution, taking ownership of specific project tasks. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Technical responsibility for Material Requisitions.
  • Performing Design Calculations.
  • Coordination with other disciplines and forecasting of Material Take-Offs (MTOs) for your design area.
  • Reviewing vendor documents and interpreting third-party reports (e.g., geotechnical, bathymetric survey, metocean data) for incorporation into structural design.
  • Ensuring compliance with engineering design codes and performance standards, and ensuring timely issuance of engineering deliverables to clients.
  • Preparing updates and checks for detailed engineering calculations.
  • Proposing value engineering solutions to optimise material quantities.
  • Ensuring that contractual technical specifications are met by suppliers, adhering to committed manhours and budgets.
  • Timely internal and external reporting on engineering and requisitioning activities to the group leader.
  • Meeting the project’s quality objectives.
  • Collaborating with other discipline specialist engineers, and potentially project support functions such as procurement and planning.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educational Qualification: Engineering degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in design and execution of offshore facilities projects.
  • Academic Excellence: Minimum CGPA of 3.5 or 2nd Class Upper.

Key Skills & Tools:

Analysis and Tools:

  • Advanced user of SACS engineering software.
  • Frequent user of USFOS and GRLWEAP.
  • In-depth experience in substructure and topsides In-service analyses including:
    • Static in-place
    • Dynamic in-place
    • Spectral fatigue
  • Strong knowledge in Pre-service analyses:
    • Lifting analysis
    • Load-out analysis
    • On-bottom pile driveability analysis

Nice to Have:

  • Frequent user of SESAM, Abaqus, or Ansys.
  • Expertise in seismic analysis (ELE and ALE), blast and fire structural collapse analysis, vibration analysis, and wind fatigue analysis.
