We are currently supporting a major energy operator on a high-impact upstream project in Esbjerg, Denmark. They are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer for a residential assignment, covering parental leave with the possibility of an extension.
This is a key technical role in the onshore process team, responsible for optimisation, support to site operations, commissioning activities, and process studies.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor, optimise, and troubleshoot onshore processing systems

Provide hands-on support for commissioning, start-up, ramp-up, and shutdown

Mentor and validate the work of junior Process Engineers

Lead and contribute to process-related initiatives and technical projects

Prepare, review, and update operating procedures and ensure site implementation

Participate in safety and design studies (HAZID, HAZOP, RCA, FMP)

Develop and update engineering deliverables: PFDs, P&IDs, Datasheets, Cause & Effect Diagrams

Support DGS, integrity assessments, and safe operations reviews

Engage in offshore site surveys when required

Share insights and data with relevant internal teams (e.g., development, wells, operations)

Interface with HQ experts and provide operational feedback

Assist in process and performance optimisation studies

Support offshore teams with rapid resolution of process issues

Promote knowledge sharing and mentoring within the team
Candidate Requirements:

Education: MSc in Chemical Engineering or equivalent

Experience: Minimum 6 years in process engineering within oil & gas or petrochemicals

Technical: Hands-on experience with process simulation tools (UNISIM, HYSYS, OLGA, etc.)

Language: Fluent in spoken and written English
