Position Overview

A leading global energy operator is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for a fixed-term contract assignment in Esbjerg. This is a great opportunity to work at the forefront of offshore oil & gas operations, supporting a dynamic site team during a critical operational phase. Ideal for a process engineering professional who thrives in hands-on environments and enjoys mentoring and leading technical improvements.


Key Responsibilities

Operational & Technical Support

  • Actively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise process performance

  • Support on-site activities for commissioning, start-up, ramp-up, and shutdown

  • Deliver quick-response support for offshore process-related issues

Technical Leadership & Documentation

  • Lead and support process engineering initiatives and optimisation projects

  • Develop and maintain key process documentation: PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, specifications, Cause & Effect diagrams

  • Review and update operational guidelines and ensure on-site implementation

Training & Mentorship

  • Provide coaching and validation for junior process engineers

  • Drive knowledge transfer and competency development within the team

Study Participation & Interface Activities

  • Contribute to HAZID/HAZOP, root cause analysis, integrity assessments, and other technical studies

  • Participate in development planning, field management planning (FMP), and OEFF/safe operations reviews

  • Interface with HQ specialists and cross-disciplinary teams including well performance, development, and flow assurance

Tool & Method Evolution

  • Support continuous improvement of engineering tools and methodologies

  • Conduct and support site surveys as needed


Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

  • MSc (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering

  • Minimum 6 years’ process engineering experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry

Technical Expertise

  • Strong background in process design, optimisation, and operations

  • Proficiency with process simulation tools such as UNISIM, HYSYS, OLGA

  • Experience in preparing and maintaining key technical documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, C&E diagrams)

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities

  • Excellent communication skills – written and spoken English essential

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
