Company Overview: A leading company in green steel production, constructing a plant in Northern Sweden that aims to reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 95% compared to conventional steel production.
Role Overview: The Rail Engineer will oversee and coordinate the integration and alignment of various engineering systems, subsystems, and teams within complex projects, such as railway or infrastructure developments. This role ensures effective management of interfaces between disciplines (e.g., civil, electrical, signaling, and mechanical) to avoid clashes, delays, and technical issues. The Rail Engineer will collaborate closely with design leads, project stakeholders, and contractors to establish clear communication channels and alignment across project boundaries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Manage all engineering aspects of railway projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, technical specifications, and requirements.
- Team Supervision: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance on technical design, project planning, and quality assurance.
- Technical Oversight: Review and approve engineering designs, plans, and specifications, ensuring adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
- Budget and Timeline Management: Oversee project budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation, ensuring cost-effective solutions and timely project delivery.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a key liaison between contractors, regulatory bodies, and internal teams, facilitating effective communication and alignment across project phases.
- Risk Management and Compliance: Identify potential project risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory standards.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure quality control processes are in place for all engineering activities, conducting regular project reviews and audits to maintain high standards.
- Interface Coordination: Identify, define, and manage interfaces between different engineering disciplines and subsystems to ensure cohesive integration within the project.
