Position Title: QA/QC Inspector (Electrical & Instrument)
Location: Qatar
Job Purpose
The QA/QC Inspector (Electrical & Instrument) ensures that all electrical and instrumentation installation, testing, and commissioning activities comply with project specifications, international codes, and standards. The role is responsible for performing inspections, monitoring quality, and supporting corrective actions for multi-discipline construction and commissioning activities in oil, gas, and petrochemical projects.
Qualifications

Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Instrumentation Engineering.

Formal training in Quality Control and membership with a recognized professional institution is preferred.
Experience & Knowledge
-
Minimum 10 years’ experience as a QA/QC inspector in electrical/instrumentation works, preferably in the GCC.

Sound knowledge of inspection requirements, testing procedures, and standards for electrical and instrumentation equipment in oil, gas, and petrochemical facilities.

Familiarity with international codes and standards (QCS, NEC, IEC, IEEE, NFPA 70, etc.).

Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, multicultural environment.
Key Responsibilities

Implement project quality management system procedures applicable to electrical and instrumentation works.

Ensure personal and team adherence to safety, health, and environmental requirements.

Coordinate inspection and testing activities on behalf of the project, including Site/Factory Acceptance Tests (SAT/FAT).

Review and verify contractor inspection documentation, method statements, work procedures, inspection and test plans, and reports.

Monitor installation and commissioning activities for compliance with project specifications and standards.

Perform inspections on electrical components including transformers, switchgears, MCCBs, PLCs, MCC/LCC panels, and instrumentation systems.

Ensure calibration of inspection and testing equipment and maintain records.

Assist construction personnel in identifying potential non-conformances and propose corrective and preventive actions.

Monitor contractor performance, generate punch lists, witness loop checks, and ensure proper material handling and installation practices.

Review material receiving inspections and reject materials not meeting specifications or lacking proper certificates.

Track and report trends of non-compliance, initiate NCRs/Surveillance reports, and follow up on corrective actions.
Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of HV/LV cable laying, grounding systems, and electrical installation standards.

Ability to interpret electrical/instrumentation hook-up drawings and red-line mark-ups.

Experience in commissioning and loop-checking of electrical and instrumentation systems.

Competency in quality documentation, ITPs, RFIs, and technical inspection reporting.
