About the Role
Join a forward-thinking Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) team driving process safety improvements across the UK and Ireland. As a Process Safety Specialist, you will play a vital role in assessing, maintaining, and enhancing process safety management systems within a complex chemical and petrochemical environment.
Your focus will be on developing robust tools and processes to monitor and improve safety performance, including incident reviews, risk assessments, safety-critical device management, performance indicators, audits, and management reviews. You will be pivotal in embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
In addition, you will analyse learning needs related to process safety, and develop or coordinate training and competence assessments to support operational excellence. You’ll also lead responses to ad-hoc process safety issues, new legislation, or incident investigations, working closely with a network of regional advisors.
Key Responsibilities

Lead development and implementation of process safety management tools and systems.

Conduct thorough process safety incident reviews and manage risk assessment action plans.

Oversee management and maintenance of safety-critical devices.

Monitor process safety performance indicators and coordinate audit and management review programmes.

Identify training needs, develop competence assessment tools, and deliver or coordinate training activities.

Manage ad-hoc process safety challenges, including legislative updates, problem-solving initiatives, and incident response.

Collaborate with internal teams and external regulatory authorities.
Candidate Requirements

Proven experience contributing to or coordinating COMAH safety reports.

Strong track record interacting with regulatory authorities on process safety matters.

In-depth understanding of process safety management systems and chemical/petrochemical industry standards.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ability to work remotely while maintaining effective collaboration across regional teams.
