Principal Marine Engineer – Hybrid – London, UK
Work Pattern: Hybrid (12 remote days/month + 1 carry-over day)

Overview
We are currently seeking a Principal Marine Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy at the forefront of the energy transition. With projects spanning Carbon Capture, Offshore and Onshore Developments, Hydrogen, and Renewables, this is a unique opportunity to shape complex and future-focused projects while enjoying a flexible hybrid working model.

The role is based in Hampshire, with generous support available for relocation and visa sponsorship for candidates already located in the UK or Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary offshore design team with a focus on marine systems

  • Define optimal technical solutions and lead the development of system concepts

  • Establish and manage internal workflows and project execution plans

  • Review and approve technical documentation for quality and compliance before release

  • Collaborate closely with internal and cross-functional project teams

  • Engage with contractors, vendors, and shipyards to review technical inputs

  • Ensure project delivery aligns with relevant marine and pipeline design standards and internal HSEQ requirements

  • Manage technical interfaces between marine systems, naval architecture, and structural disciplines

About You

  • Degree qualified in an engineering discipline

  • Proven experience in marine system design for offshore environments

  • Strong track record of delivering FEED and EPC phases on FPSO, floating facilities, or LNG projects

  • Familiar with cargo loading and offtake systems

  • Confident leading teams and contributing to multidisciplinary project environments

  • Strong understanding of class, flag, and international marine design codes and regulations
