Location: Qatar Onshore

Job Purpose

Provide technical leadership for pipeline pre-commissioning activities, ensuring alignment across all departments and timely achievement of project milestones. The role ensures that all pre-commissioning work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with technical and quality requirements.

Job Context & Challenges

  • Ensure full understanding of contractual requirements for all pipeline pre-commissioning activities.

  • Support EPIC Contractors in meeting project scope and specifications.

  • Interface with multiple teams to resolve issues requiring effective communication, flexibility, and collaboration.

  • Ensure project priorities are aligned across departments and milestones are achieved.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Serve as focal point for onshore and offshore pipeline pre-commissioning activities, promoting and implementing safety measures.

  2. Provide technical expertise to achieve project deliverables in line with specifications.

  3. Lead Risk Assessments, HAZIDs, Constructability Reviews, and similar pre-commissioning evaluations.

  4. Drive execution of pre-commissioning activities while keeping the team aligned with project schedules.

  5. Assist the NFXP Offshore Commissioning/Systems Completion Division Manager in executing pipeline pre-commissioning responsibilities.

  6. Plan, prepare, and manage all pre-commissioning activities to ensure timely achievement of technical objectives within approved scope, budget, and schedule.

  7. Ensure effective coordination and communication with other disciplines (Pipeline Engineering, Installation, Hook-up, Completion, HSE) and provide technical support to contractors.

  8. Review, approve, and implement system completion and pre-commissioning technical documents prepared by EPC Contractors.

  9. Mentor trainees to develop project skills and experience.

  10. Maintain a register of lessons learned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering

Experience & Knowledge

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in large-project commissioning in Oil & Gas, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or oversight role.

  • Experience with pipeline pre-commissioning activities: FCG, Hydrotest, Intelligent Pigging (ILI), dewatering, drying, pre-batch pigging, N2 packing, and SIMOPS coordination.

  • Knowledge of Intelligent Pigging (MFL, UT, EC, EMAT) and geometric/caliper tools.

  • Familiarity with ICAPS system completion database is advantageous.

  • Strong ability to read P&IDs, datasheets, general arrangement drawings, and procedures.

  • Broad knowledge of project execution, engineering, operations, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and systems completion.

  • Understanding of contract requirements, codes, standards, and technical specifications compliance.

  • Experience with LNG industry vendors and equipment (compressors, power generation, control systems, topsides).

  • Experience supporting start-up operations and large-scale projects.

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

  • Computer literate with proficiency in office and technical applications.
