Photovoltaic Project Manager
Location: Lyon, France
Our client is seeking a Photovoltaic Project Manager to join and help drive our mission towards decentralised energy production. In this role, you will independently manage solar PV projects from construction through to commissioning, ensuring contractual targets are met while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. You’ll report to the Construction Manager and collaborate across technical and commercial teams to deliver high-quality renewable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Construction Phase (Pre-/Post-Sales):

Liaise with the Engineering team to assess photovoltaic potential and ensure technically sound proposals.

Oversee external providers (e.g. architects, surveyors, asbestos diagnostics) in collaboration with Engineering and Procurement.
Development Phase:

Secure planning permissions in coordination with local authorities, architects, and the DREAL.

Manage grid connection procedures with operators and the Engineering team, ensuring compliance with feed-in tariffs or self-consumption subsidies.

Interpret and apply contractual/legal documentation (leases, permits, etc.).

Coordinate feed-in tariff/remuneration applications with internal teams.

Build and maintain detailed project timelines with all stakeholders.
Construction Phase:

Act as the project owner’s representative on-site.

Draft and review technical specs and tender documentation (DCE), incorporating client requirements.

Assist in selecting contractors and suppliers alongside Procurement.

Ensure QHSE, budget, and scheduling compliance from mobilisation through to grid connection.

Conduct regular project reporting and CAPEX monitoring.

Coordinate technical interactions between stakeholders (clients, subcontractors, safety authorities, etc.).

Lead commissioning of the solar installation.
Operational Phase:

Oversee early-stage plant operations until all contractual obligations are discharged.
Cross-Functional Duties:

Monitor emerging technologies and market trends.

Support process improvement initiatives within the construction team.

Contribute to continuous improvement across the department.
Ideal Candidate Profile

Degree equivalent to Bac+5 (Master’s or Engineering School), preferably with a focus in energy, electrical, or mechanical engineering.

At least 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager, including 1+ year in Renewable Energy.

Strong understanding of the energy market, regulatory landscape, and grid connection processes.

Proven track record in managing construction projects end-to-end.

Confident leadership style with adaptability and initiative.

Collaborative mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Willingness to travel across France as required.

Fluency in English (spoken and written); French is highly advantageous.
