Project Context:
Join a major turnaround project at refinery as the designated Lifting Authority. This critical role supports both the preparation and execution phases of complex and high-risk lifting operations, ensuring compliance with corporate and local HSE procedures. Operations include critical lifts (e.g. reactor and fractionator movements) and coordination with major lifting contractors.
Work Schedule:

Preparation Phase (May–August 2025):
-
Primarily remote: ~2 hrs/day
-
Increased load (~4 hrs/day) during final 6 weeks

Minimum 4 site visits + additional as needed

Key operations:

Reactor transport – May 9

Fractionator transport – June 30

Execution Phase (September 15 – December 15, 2025):

Full-time, on-site presence: 6 days/week

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
-
Lifting Plan Oversight & Compliance
-
Validate all lifting records and plans against CR-GR-HSE-420 / GS-GR-HSE-464 and site-specific rules
-
Approve lifting and slinging plans, and operational procedures
-
Adapt and revise documentation in case of changes
-

Operational Coordination
-
Monitor all lifting operations on-site where necessary
-
Support the TTE Operations and Engineering teams
-
Coordinate with lifting service providers and ensure correct execution
-
Provide guidance and intervention during critical or exceptional lifts
-

Audits, Risk Management & Reporting
-
Conduct field audits and risk analyses
-
Perform regular competency checks on lifting personnel
-
Ensure proper acceptance of lifting equipment
-
Identify and report any unsafe behavior or HSE deviation
-

Training, Coaching & Stakeholder Engagement
-
Coach PCOLs (Level 1 & 2 lifting ops personnel)

Participate in incident/accident investigations
-
Lead safety webinars (4 annually)
-
Attend industry seminars (1 every 2–3 years)
-

Reporting & Metrics

Submit detailed weekly, monthly, and annual reports to the LSO Lifting Representative

Report to include:

Number and type of lifts
-
Weights handled
-
Procedures by criticality and equipment type

Anomalies, incidents, and corrective actions

REX (return of experience)

Candidate Profile:
Required Skills & Experience:
-
Proven expertise in lifting operations within oil & gas or heavy industrial environments
-
Strong understanding of international and local HSE regulations for lifting
-
Familiarity with HSE frameworks and lifting procedures
-
Capable of handling complex and critical lifting scenarios
-
Strong communication, auditing, and coordination skills
Personal Attributes:

Autonomous and proactive with a sharp eye for safety

Strong field presence and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams under pressure

Structured reporting mindset and fluent in risk-based thinking

Fluent in English; knowledge of French or Dutch is an asset
