Lead Process Engineer – Oil and Gas Development Projects

A major international energy project is seeking an experienced Lead Process Engineer to join their onshore team in Paris. The successful candidate will lead the process engineering discipline across FEED and EPC phases, with responsibility for high-quality deliverables, interface coordination, and technical leadership. This is a key role within a fast-paced and innovative environment, contributing to the development of next-generation minimalistic offshore platforms.
Project Scope and Context
The role supports the full life cycle of upstream offshore developments, beginning at the FEED phase and continuing through to EPC execution and project close-out. The position involves active engagement with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, both internal and external. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, operational integrity, and collaborative working practices.
Key Responsibilities

Lead process design and studies across FEED and EPC project phases

Define and manage the scope and quality of process deliverables

Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation, including tender packages and scope of work

Provide technical input for value engineering activities

Interface with other disciplines to ensure consistent and optimised design

Support the preparation and review of early procurement packages (LLIs)

Oversee compliance with relevant project standards and industry best practices

Drive innovation that leads to CAPEX or OPEX reduction while ensuring safety and operability

Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and other safety or technical reviews

Review and approve contractor documentation, ensuring alignment with technical requirements

Coordinate with other packages and disciplines to manage technical interfaces

Support the development of operating instructions and process documentation

Participate in bid evaluation and contractor clarifications

Communicate regularly with engineering leads and package managers to report progress and highlight risks
Candidate Requirements

Degree-qualified engineer in a relevant discipline

Minimum 10 years' experience in upstream oil and gas process engineering

At least 15 years of total professional experience

Extensive experience with FEED and EPC project phases

Strong knowledge of international engineering codes and standards

Ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams

Fluency in English (spoken and written)

Experience in innovation-driven or minimalistic offshore developments is advantageous
