Key Responsibilities
-
Provide technical leadership across a wide range of instrumentation systems: pressure, temperature, flow, level, control valves, relief devices, motor-operated valves, and safety shutdown systems.

Lead or contribute to engineering studies that drive safety improvements, process optimisation, and cost reduction.

Participate in incident investigations and technical task forces, representing the business with sound engineering judgment.

Support the development and continuous improvement of internal engineering standards, specifications, and best practices.

Evaluate supplier capabilities and technical offerings, providing input on vendor selection and technical compliance.

Represent the company in technical discussions with suppliers, manufacturers, EPCs, and other stakeholders.

Conduct technical bid evaluations and support procurement during bid clarification and award processes.

Monitor and adopt emerging technologies and industry best practices to improve instrumentation performance and reliability.

Carry out cost-benefit analysis and value engineering to ensure cost-effective solutions.

Provide input and expertise during process safety reviews (HAZOP, SIL assessments, P&ID reviews).

Mentor and support junior engineers through knowledge sharing and structured development programmes.
Candidate Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline (Master’s preferred).

20+ years of instrumentation engineering experience in the oil & gas industry.
-
Deep expertise in selecting, specifying, and sizing instrumentation such as control valves, transmitters, and actuators.

Familiarity with field communication protocols (e.g., HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Modbus).

In-depth knowledge of industry codes and standards (API, ISA, IEC, ASME, etc.).

Experience with process safety systems, including HAZOP and SIL assessments.

Recognised certifications such as Chartered Engineer status are highly regarded.
-
Experience with instrumentation for both greenfield and brownfield projects is a plus.
