Position Title: Lead Instrument & Control System Engineer
Location: Doha, Qatar
Work Schedule: Residential – 5 workdays/week, 8 hours/day
Contract Term: Initial 12 months (with possibility to extend)
Estimated Start Date: 01-Oct-2025 or ASAP
Job Purpose
The Lead Instrument & Control (I&C) Engineer provides technical leadership and expertise for FEED and detailed engineering of greenfield and brownfield oil & gas facilities, with a particular focus on offshore projects. The role involves overseeing design, modifications, and integration of I&C systems to ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and requirements.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering from an accredited university.

Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in FEED and detailed engineering for oil & gas facilities (including offshore).

At least 10 years of experience in detailed design engineering for brownfield modifications to offshore oil & gas facilities.

Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or Lead Engineer capacity.
Technical Skills & Experience

Hands-on experience with at least three of the following: DCS, PLC, RTU, SCADA, SIS, F&G, WHCP, choke valves.

Strong knowledge of industry practices, engineering tools, standards, and codes relevant to the I&C discipline.

Experience with Material Requisitions (MR), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), and Technical Queries (TQ).

Exposure to IPF Classification and SIL (Safety Integrity Level) assessments.
Key Responsibilities

Lead I&C engineering activities for greenfield and brownfield projects, ensuring design compliance with project specifications and international standards.

Supervise and mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on instrumentation and control systems.

Review and approve engineering deliverables, including design drawings, datasheets, and specifications.

Support brownfield modifications, ensuring safe integration with existing systems.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Process, Electrical, and Mechanical disciplines.

Participate in technical bid evaluations, material reviews, and respond to technical queries as required.

Contribute to IPF classification, SIL assessments, and risk analyses.
