Instrument Technician

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance checks, scheduling, and recording tasks.

Identify, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation faults efficiently.

Service and calibrate a range of process control instrumentation, including transmitters, controllers, and analysers.

Support vendor-specified maintenance activities.

Maintain site services and ensure adherence to safety protocols.

Respond to breakdowns and provide advice outside of normal working hours when required.

Maintain high housekeeping standards to ensure a safe working environment.

Assist other technicians and operational staff, demonstrating an understanding of process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.

Carry out equipment isolations according to permit requirements for safe maintenance.

Provide support during the installation and commissioning of new facilities.

Work alongside specialist vendor engineers and assist in ensuring maintenance is completed to high standards.

Supervise and liaise with contractors to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Stay updated on industry best practices and equipment advancements through training and supplier engagement.
Qualifications & Experience

4-5 years of maintenance experience with instrumentation and electrical systems.

Recognised instrument qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).

Strong working knowledge of electrical systems.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
