An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Estimating Engineer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation within the energy sector. This role plays a crucial part in supporting tendering and project teams by preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for subsea and offshore projects. If you have a keen eye for detail, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, this position is for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and coordinate cost estimates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with estimating guidelines.
  • Analyse technical, commercial, and contractual bid inputs to eliminate errors or inconsistencies.
  • Assist in preparing commercial responses to client tenders.
  • Contribute to contingency analysis and cash flow reports where required.
  • Work closely with procurement teams to obtain subcontractor quotations and finalise tender pricing.
  • Secure necessary management approvals for tender proposal pricing and any subsequent adjustments.
  • Participate in post-tender clarifications and meetings, ensuring all responses align with corporate principles.
  • Maintain a benchmarking database and assist in analysing competitive positions.
  • Support the tendering team with documentation, presentations, procedures, and administrative tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and guidelines throughout all estimating activities.

What You’ll Need

  • Education: Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering or a Commercial/Business-related discipline.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in estimating, contracts engineering, or a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of onshore, offshore, and subsea EPCI projects.
    • Knowledge of Services & Rental models is highly desirable.
    • Proficiency in estimating tools such as Excel or specialised software.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English (both written and verbal).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and within multi-disciplinary teams.
