An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Estimating Engineer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation within the energy sector. This role plays a crucial part in supporting tendering and project teams by preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for subsea and offshore projects. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and coordinate cost estimates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with estimating guidelines.
- Analyse technical, commercial, and contractual bid inputs to eliminate errors or inconsistencies.
- Assist in preparing commercial responses to client tenders.
- Contribute to contingency analysis and cash flow reports where required.
- Work closely with procurement teams to obtain subcontractor quotations and finalise tender pricing.
- Secure necessary management approvals for tender proposal pricing and any subsequent adjustments.
- Participate in post-tender clarifications and meetings, ensuring all responses align with corporate principles.
- Maintain a benchmarking database and assist in analysing competitive positions.
- Support the tendering team with documentation, presentations, procedures, and administrative tasks.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and guidelines throughout all estimating activities.
What You’ll Need
- Education: Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering or a Commercial/Business-related discipline.
- Experience: 3-5 years in estimating, contracts engineering, or a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of onshore, offshore, and subsea EPCI projects.
- Knowledge of Services & Rental models is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in estimating tools such as Excel or specialised software.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English (both written and verbal).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and within multi-disciplinary teams.
