Job Title: Downstream Risk Engineer
Location: Remote with Global Travel

Overview:
We are seeking experienced senior engineers from the refining, petrochemicals, or chemical sectors to join our dynamic risk engineering team. This is a fully remote role supporting global projects within the energy and power sectors, focused on risk analysis, insurance placement, and safety performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent client assets accurately for risk assessment and insurance placement

  • Conduct 12–14 surveys annually for oil & gas, or up to 15–20 for power industry assets

  • Collaborate with a global team of 60+ engineers in the GERE (Global Energy & Power Risk Engineering) team

  • Perform technical risk assessments and develop detailed underwriting reports

  • Recommend improvements in process safety and asset reliability

  • Estimate Maximum Loss (EML) using advanced risk modeling tools

  • Support brokers and client executives in tenders and insurance market engagements

  • Develop content and publications on process safety management best practices

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in refining, petrochemicals, or chemical industries

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar field

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging senior stakeholders

  • Strong organizational skills for coordinating global site visits and report delivery

  • Expertise in areas like process engineering, safety management, asset integrity, and emergency response

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with major operators or manufacturing firms

  • Senior leadership or technical influence in previous roles

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related field

  • Chartered or eligible for chartered status (IChemE, IET, IMechE, etc.)

  • Multilingual communication skills

  • Background in project management and commissioning
