Job Title: Cost Control Leader

Assignment Type: Annually Renewable Contract
Location: Lulea, Sweden
Residential / Rotation: 4 weeks on site, 1 week working remote, on rotation. Working 5 days per week, 8 hours per day

ROLE OVERVIEW

Senior cost management professional with 10+ years' experience on large, complex industrial projects

Responsible for overseeing budget control, financial reporting, risk management, and cost variance mitigation

Acts as the interface between project management, finance, and client leadership

Produces high-level cost analyses and reports while validating data within systems such as UNIFIER to ensure full contractual and financial compliance across all project areas
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage high-level cost control meetings with management and clients

Collaborate with project management and finance teams to ensure that all operating costs are accurately accounted for and properly allocated

Decide on corrective measures for cost variances based on project expenditure monitoring

Generate high-level financial reports, highlighting key metrics, trends, and issues relevant to the client and stakeholders regarding the status of project cost control

Identify and approve financial risks, use of contingencies, and develop mitigation strategies to avoid cost overruns and budget impacts

Review and manage contractual costs, ensuring compliance with financial conditions and addressing any cost-related issues

Analyse the overall status of project costs provided by the cost control team within all CAs

Review and analyse UNIFIER information to validate project cost control
REQUIRED

University degree or higher qualification

Previous work experience as a Cost Control Leader / Manager or in a similar position; more than 10 years' experience in large and complex projects is required

Experience in financial analysis, cost saving, budgeting, cost estimation, project management, software proficiency, strategic planning, team leadership, risk management, problem solving, critical thinking, analytical decision making, communication, and negotiation

Knowledge and experience in document management methodologies and tools
