Scope of Work
Main Responsibilities

Serve as the focal point for corrosion mitigation, monitoring, and inspection reviews, coordinating closely with the Inspection Method Engineer.

Review FAME+ (CLIENT’s RBI tool) study results and inspection outcomes, recommending necessary updates.

Liaise with the laboratory manager regarding chemical injection monitoring and sampling analysis.

Organize and follow up on corrosion monitoring campaigns including corrosion probe readings, cathodic protection assessments, and coupon retrievals.

Utilize PDMS (PI System) to analyze process operating parameters and define the Integrity Operating Window to minimize corrosion risks.

Coordinate activities of external contractors conducting corrosion monitoring and control.

Propose actions to improve the performance and reliability of corrosion control systems.

Notify support teams of recurring issues with parts availability or system quality.

Ensure software updates and modifications meet functional requirements and that documentation is current.

Prepare weekly and monthly reports to track the performance of corrosion protection systems (e.g., chemical injection efficiency).
Requirements
Education:
-
Master’s Degree (Laurea Magistrale or Specialistica) or Bachelor’s Degree (Laurea Triennale) in Metallurgy, Corrosion, or a related field. Equivalent international qualifications such as HND/HNC, BTS/DUT accepted.
Experience:

Minimum 8 years of experience in corrosion engineering, with at least 3 years in a corrosion specialist role within the petrochemical or oil & gas industry.
Technical Knowledge:

Strong understanding of corrosion mechanisms and major threats in upstream oil and gas operations.

Familiarity with API standards including API 580/581 (Risk-Based Inspection) and API RP 571 (Damage Mechanisms in Refining).

Hands-on experience with corrosion mitigation techniques such as chemical injection, painting systems, cathodic protection, and the use of probes and coupons.

Knowledge of oil and gas treatment plant operations and equipment.
Tools & Systems:

Experience with CMIMS (e.g., SAP), RBI systems such as FAME+, and corrosion monitoring software.
