Position: Construction Superintendent – Electrical
Location: Qatar
Job Purpose
The Construction Superintendent – Electrical will oversee all aspects of Electrical Construction, particularly the installation and commissioning of Electrical Substation systems. This role is critical in ensuring that electrical systems meet regulatory standards and project specifications. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with project management teams, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth integration and completion of all electrical systems. They will also conduct tests to verify the integrity of electrical systems and ensure compliance with technical requirements developed during the engineering phase. The role demands effective coordination with various teams, including Operations, to ensure that the Electrical layout and plans are optimised for seamless execution within the project budget and schedule.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee the delivery of all Electrical Construction activities, from installation through to commissioning of electrical substation systems.

Ensure electrical systems meet regulatory and safety standards and adhere to the project specifications.

Lead and coordinate with project management teams, EPC contractors, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.

Conduct technical reviews and inspections to ensure electrical systems meet required specifications and regulatory standards.

Provide oversight to the EPC contractors, ensuring they meet deliverable timelines and quality standards.

Ensure that all technical requirements, including data sheets and equipment specifications, fully align with project needs and goals.

Collaborate with Facilities, EPC engineers, and Operations personnel to optimise integration and layout of electrical systems.

Manage the coordination and execution of electrical construction works within the allocated budget and timeline.

Identify and resolve any issues that may arise during the construction and commissioning phases, ensuring minimal impact on project schedules.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Knowledge and Experience
-
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Electrical Engineering, with a strong background in electrical construction on large-scale industrial projects, particularly in the oil and gas or energy sector.

Significant experience in electrical execution works within a brownfield environment, including large utility systems in industrial facilities.

Prior experience in CO2 sequestration or related environmental projects is advantageous but not essential.

Strong knowledge of electrical standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Proven track record of overseeing complex electrical installations and commissioning, ensuring all deliverables are met within scope, time, and budget constraints.
