Job Title: Barge Foreman
Department: Offshore, Abu Dhabi
Job Purpose
Responsible for overseeing all offshore construction work performed by the barge, including control of activities such as laying underwater pipelines, risers, and installation of jackets, decks, etc. Ensures all deck operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements.
Principal Accountabilities

Report to the Barge Superintendent / Assistant Barge Superintendent / Field Engineer on construction works and project progress.

Supervise all personnel on deck to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

Supervise maintenance of the barge, coordinating with the Chief Engineer/Chief Mechanic on equipment functionality and operational status.

Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules using knowledge of machinery and equipment capabilities.

Ensure safety of all operations; participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and implement outcomes.

Implement approved installation procedures and update them as necessary with approval from Barge Superintendent / Field Engineer.

Monitor subcontractor personnel and equipment; provide guidance and feedback on utilization and performance.

Report and review accidents, incidents, and near-misses for investigation and corrective action.

Oversee deck operations and review the work of other foremen and supervisors to meet operational and client-specific requirements.

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, integrity standards, Code of Conduct, and HSE requirements.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications

Secondary School Certificate with a discipline-specific technical qualification, or equivalent.
Experience
-
Minimum 12 years’ relevant experience in offshore construction barges (Jack-Up and Floating Barges) within the Oil & Gas industry.
Competencies
-
Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including report writing.

Knowledge and understanding of offshore construction practices, marine operations, and HSE requirements.

Experience in crane operations, lifting, and rigging works.

Familiarity with HSEMS, environmental awareness, hazardous materials, and waste handling.

Proven supervisory and people management skills.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
